Ellis Island Drawings to be Auctioned

[Drawings for one of Frank Lloyd Wright's last proposals](http://artfixdaily.com/artwire/release/9471-sloans-and-kenyon-to-auction-frank-lloyd-wright’s-“key-projec) , the Key Project for Ellis Island will be offered for auction by Washington D.C.-area auction house [Sloans & Kenyon Auctioneers and Appraisers](http://www.sloansandkenyon.com/search.htm) on November 14.

Key Project was Wright’s visionary solution to urban living and proposed apartment complexes, theaters, shopping, and other amenities in a car-free suburban environment designed for Manhattan commuters.

Never realized, Key Project was one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s last projects before his death in 1959.

Auction lots in the November 12th, 13th & 14th auction can be viewed in person at Sloans & Kenyon’s Chevy Chase gallery during the six-day exhibition, November 6th through 11th, or by appointment. A fully-illustrated auction catalogue will be available after November 1st. Multiple-view online images of auction lots, detailed images, and alternate views of auction lots can be viewed at www.sloansandkenyon.com/search.htm beginning October 25th.

The first link above includes a very small thumbnail of one drawing -- far too small to get more than an inkling of the site's layout. With any luck (don't hold your breath) I'll remember to link to the preview of the auction after october 25.
