More on Kaufmann's Neutra

A commenter on my post about Edgar Kaufmann’s Neutra house pointed out the weblog Southern California Architectural History and this post about Kaufman’s California vacation home.

When the house was constructed, there was contention over publicizing the home — it was clearly an important work, but Kaufmann’s well-known association with Wright made wide publication controversial.

The post is well illustrated, with excerpts and images from magazines from the late 1940s through the 1970s. The post includes a link to a full bibliography on the house, illustrated with even more images.

Be sure to read through to the end — you’ll want to read what the first commenter has to say.
