Doghouse

I really, really tried to ignore the “Frank Lloyd Wright designed a doghouse!!!” story. It just seemed silly. But the whole damned internet went a bit nuts with the story, so now I don’t have a choice.

Briefly, in 1956, 12-year-old Jack Berger, son of Robert Berger, the client for a Bay-area Usonian designed in 1950, wrote to Wright asking for a matching dog house for Jake. Wright complied, though the dog never liked it. The original was discarded in the 1970s.

The doghouse has been rebuilt from Wright’s plans, and is being used to promote the documentary film Romanza.
