Ravine Bluffs Markers Restored

Late last year, Blair Kamin wrote about the sad state of the subdivision markers for the Ravine Bluffs development in Glencoe, Illinois. The poured concrete markers have now been beautifully restored, by Smith Art Conservation; the company has posted a time-lapse video of their work here, along with before & after photos.

The Ravine Bluffs subdivision includes six houses designed by Wright, all commissioned by Sherman Booth, Jr (Wright's lawyer at the time), in 1915. One of the houses in Ravine Bluffs is owned by architect John Effler and has undergone a remarkable restoration.
